Belgian Waffles
Belgian waffles, crispy and light, are a true culinary gem from Belgium.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 2 eggs
- 200 ml of milk
- 100 g of butter
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- oil for frying
Method
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, add the milk and melted butter, and mix well.
- Combine the flour mixture with the egg mixture until you get a smooth consistency.
- Let the batter rest for 30 minutes.
- In a non-stick pan, heat a little oil.
- Pour a spoonful of waffle batter into each well.
- Cook the waffles for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they form nice golden colors.
- Serve warm with honey or fruit.
The story
Waffles have a history dating back to the 17th century, but they became popular in the 19th century due to their street vending in Brussels.
