Bannock
Bannock is a traditional Canadian sweet, soft and crunchy, made with wheat flour and sugar.

Ingredients
- 250 g of wheat flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 200 ml of cold water
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
Method
- Mix the flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, mix the water, butter, honey, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the liquid mixture to the flour mixture, gently mixing until a uniform dough is formed.
- Shape the dough into uniform-sized balls.
- Fry the balls in hot oil until they become crispy and golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
The story
Bannock has its origins among Canadian indigenous peoples, who used it as a base for their culinary traditions, and has spread throughout English and French Canada.
