Ingredients
- 1 lb of beef or tofu
- 250 g of rice leaves
- 2 onions
- 100 g of choice vegetables (scallions, baby onions, carrots)
- 1 tablespoon of soy oil
- 1 tablespoon of liquid soy sauce
- 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Water for moistening the rice leaves
Method
- Slice the onion and vegetables into thin strips.
- In a pan, sauté the onion and vegetables in soy oil.
- Add the meat or tofu, seasoned with salt and pepper, and cook until the mixture is well done.
- Moisten the rice leaves in cold water.
- Prepare the soy and lemon sauce by mixing liquid soy sauce and lemon juice.
- Prepare the bánh cuốn by placing a rice leaf on a cloth, adding a bit of meat or tofu mixture, and covering with another rice leaf.
- Gently roll and tie with a cotton thread.
- Stack the rolls and cook in boiling water for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot with the soy and lemon sauce.
