A sweet and crunchy babka, typical of Dnipropetrovsk, with a unique flavor.

Ingredients
- 300 g of flour
- 200 g of sugar
- 100 g of butter
- 4 eggs
- 50 g of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 100 g of crushed almonds
- 100 g of dark chocolate
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 100 ml of milk
- 300 g of fruit compote
- 1 egg for brushing
Method
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs with the butter, vanilla extract, and milk.
- Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture and stir until a homogeneous dough is formed.
- Add the crushed almonds and fruit compote, mixing well.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Make vertical cuts and pour the fruit compote over, then close the babka.
- Make horizontal cuts and flatten the babka by hand.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour, then bake at 180°C for 30-40 minutes.
- Let it cool, then decorate with melted chocolate.
- Serve warm or cold.
