Ingredients

  • 400 g of yam
  • 200 g of pumpkin
  • 2 onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 200 ml of palm oil
  • 1 liter of yam broth
  • 1 tablespoon of Guinea pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of cubeb pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of coriander
  • 1 tablespoon of ground ginger
  • 200 ml of milk

Method

  1. Peel and cut the pumpkin into small cubes.
  2. Peel and chop the garlic and onions.
  3. In a pan, heat the palm oil and sauté the garlic and onions.
  4. Add the pumpkin and cook for 10-15 minutes over medium heat.
  5. Add the yam broth, Guinea pepper, cubeb pepper, salt, coriander, and ginger, stir well.
  6. Bring to a boil and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
  7. Stir in the milk and mix well.
  8. Serving: Serve hot, garnished with a sprinkle of coriander.
