  • 400 gr of whelks
  • 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar
  • 1 diced onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
  • 1 fresh basil leaf
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • Cold water for cleaning the whelks
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

Method

  1. Clean the whelks with cold water and set aside.
  2. In a pan, sauté the garlic and onion in olive oil.
  3. Add the whelks and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the wine vinegar into the pan and let cook for 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch with salt, pepper, and sugar.
  6. Add a little cold water to the cornstarch mixture to create a smooth sauce.
  7. Pour the sauce into the pan with the whelks and stir well.
  8. Finally, add the chopped parsley and basil and stir one last time.
