Ingredients

  • 2 kg of onions
  • 1 lt of white wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of cumin
  • 1 tablespoon of coriander
  • 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of Sichuan pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger

Method

  1. Carefully clean the onions and slice them thinly.
  2. In a large pot, mix the vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, black pepper, Sichuan pepper, and chili flakes.
  3. Add the onion slices and mix well.
  4. Cover the pot and let it marinate for at least 24 hours.
  5. Arrange the onion slices on a serving platter and pour the torsh syrup over them.
  6. Serve cold as an appetizer or as a side for heavy dishes.
