Soda Bread
A traditional Irish light and sweet bread made with soda and wheat flour.

Ingredients
- 500 g of wheat flour
- 250 ml of cold milk
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 100 g of butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of water
Method
- Mix the flour, soda, and salt, and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix the butter, water, honey, sugar, and egg.
- Gradually add the cold milk to the butter mixture, forming a smooth dough.
- Add the flour and mix until you have a slightly sticky dough.
- Form a ball of dough and thread a piece of string through it.
- Let the bread rise for 30 minutes in a warm place.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the bread for 45-50 minutes.
- Allow the bread to cool before slicing.

Soda bread has a long history in Ireland, where it was traditionally made as a simple and easy-to-prepare economical bread.
