Ingredients
- 250 ml of whipped cream
- 50 ml of pure whisky
- 100 g of raisins
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of cane sugar
- 1 tablespoon of walnut oil
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
- Cold water for condensation
- Granola and chopped walnuts for garnish
Method
- In a bowl, mix the whipped cream with the whisky, honey, cane sugar, walnut oil, lemon juice, and vanilla essence.
- Stir well until you get a creamy consistency.
- In a separate bowl, put the raisins and pour a little cold water over them to soak.
- In a bowl, combine the soaked raisins and the whipped cream.
- Gently mix to combine the two ingredients.
- Serve immediately in bowls, garnishing with granola and chopped walnuts.
- Optional: for an extra touch, add a drop of whisky on the surface of the dessert before serving.
The story
Cranachan is a traditional Scottish dish with roots dating back to the 17th century, though it wasn't officially named as such until the 19th century. Originally served as a seasonal appetizer, it is now enjoyed as a dessert.
