Ingredients

  • 250 ml of whipped cream
  • 50 ml of pure whisky
  • 100 g of raisins
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of cane sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of walnut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  • Cold water for condensation
  • Granola and chopped walnuts for garnish

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the whipped cream with the whisky, honey, cane sugar, walnut oil, lemon juice, and vanilla essence.
  2. Stir well until you get a creamy consistency.
  3. In a separate bowl, put the raisins and pour a little cold water over them to soak.
  4. In a bowl, combine the soaked raisins and the whipped cream.
  5. Gently mix to combine the two ingredients.
  6. Serve immediately in bowls, garnishing with granola and chopped walnuts.
  7. Optional: for an extra touch, add a drop of whisky on the surface of the dessert before serving.

The story

Cranachan is a traditional Scottish dish with roots dating back to the 17th century, though it wasn't officially named as such until the 19th century. Originally served as a seasonal appetizer, it is now enjoyed as a dessert.
