Schlachta is a traditional dish from Brandenburg, featuring roasted chicken seasoned with spices and vegetables.

Ingredients
- 4 chickens
- 2 liters of chicken broth
- 1 onion
- 2 carrots
- 2 cucumbers
- 2 garlic stalks
- 100 grams of parsley
- 100 grams of thyme
- 100 grams of rosemary
- 100 grams of chili
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Method
- Prepare the chickens by cutting off the wings and legs, then place them in a bowl and cover with chicken broth. Let them rest for at least 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, slice the garlic, onion, carrots, and cucumbers into large pieces.
- In a baking dish, arrange the chickens and place the sliced vegetables around them.
- Drizzle with olive oil, season with spices, and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Make a hole in the middle of the chickens and stuff with rosemary and thyme leaves.
- Bake at 180°C for about 1 hour and a half, checking the cooking every 30 minutes.
- Serve hot, accompanied by roasted potatoes or rice.
