Ingredients
- 250g of rice
- 1 liter of milk
- 100g of sugar
- 100g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 100g of flour
- 100g of powdered sugar
- 100g of ground almonds
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Method
- In a large bowl, mix the rice, milk, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, flour, and cinnamon.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Pour the rice mixture into a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden.
- Let it cool and decorate with powdered sugar and ground almonds.
- Serve cold or at room temperature.

Originating in 18th-century Belgium, Rijstevlaai gained particular popularity in Bruges, where its preparation has become an art.
