Ingredients

  • 300g of flour
  • 100g of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 200g of Philadelphia cheese
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup of liquid cream
  • 1/2 cup of raisins
  • 1/2 cup of ground almonds
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

Method

  1. Prepare the dough: mix the flour, butter, egg, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the cheese, cream, almonds, raisins, and vanilla extract.
  3. Form small dough balls and drop them into boiling water for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Drain and let dry.
  5. Roll the dough balls in powdered sugar and bake in an oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Serve warm.

Reibekuchen originated in Berlin as a way to use up old bread, transforming it into a sweet pastry.
