Pyrohy S Varenykami (Dumplings with Cheese and Potato Filling)
These pyrohy with cheese and potatoes are a classic of Lviv's Ukrainian cuisine, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a rich and delicious flavor.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 1 liter of water
- 1 onion
- 2 tomatoes
- 250 g of fresh cheese
- 250 g of potatoes
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- Oil for frying
Method
- Prepare the dough: mix the flour with warm water until you get a soft dough, then let it rest.
- Prepare the filling: cook the potatoes and onion, then blend until you get a smooth mixture.
- Add the fresh cheese and eggs to the potato mixture, mixing well.
- Form the pyrohy: take a small amount of dough, form a ball and make a wrapper with the filling.
- Fry the pyrohy: heat the oil in a pan and fry the pyrohy until they are golden.
- Serve hot with a little salt and black pepper.
