This traditional Ilocos sweet, Puto Chicharon, is a delightful treat with the intense flavor of chicharon wrapped in fluffy puto.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- 100 g of chicharon
- 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar for garnish
Method
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and half of the oil.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and milk, then mix with the flour mixture.
- Stir well until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Add the remaining oil and stir.
- Place pieces of chicharon in the steamer basket for the puto.
- Pour the dough over the chicharon pieces.
- Cover with a cloth and let rise for 30-40 minutes.
- Make holes with a spoon and cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and let cool.
- Decorate with powdered sugar.
