Ingredients

  • 250 g of flour
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 100 g of chicharon
  • 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar for garnish

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and half of the oil.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and milk, then mix with the flour mixture.
  3. Stir well until you get a homogeneous dough.
  4. Add the remaining oil and stir.
  5. Place pieces of chicharon in the steamer basket for the puto.
  6. Pour the dough over the chicharon pieces.
  7. Cover with a cloth and let rise for 30-40 minutes.
  8. Make holes with a spoon and cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Remove from the heat and let cool.
  10. Decorate with powdered sugar.
