Prawns on the Barbecue
A delicious and crispy prawns dish, perfect for an outdoor barbecue in summer.

Ingredients
- 500g of fresh prawns
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of dried chilli flakes
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tablespoon of dried oregano
- 100g of sliced potatoes
- 100g of sliced carrots
- 100g of sliced onions
Method
- Clean and flatten the prawns, then slice the potatoes, carrots, and onions.
- In a bowl, mix the olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, spices, salt, and pepper.
- Add the prawns to the marinade and let them rest for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the barbecue and cook the prawns for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are crispy.
- Cook the vegetables separately for 10-15 minutes until they are tender.
- Serve the hot prawns with the vegetables, and garnish with olive oil and dried chilli flakes.

Barbecue meals became popular in Australia in the 1970s when television promoted the use of barbecues as a way to socialize and spend time outdoors.
