Ingredients

  • 400g potatoes
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Oil for frying
  • 100g grated cheese (optional)

Method

  1. Peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces, and cook them in salted water until soft.
  2. Drain the potatoes and let them cool.
  3. While the potatoes are cooling, beat the eggs in a large bowl.
  4. Coat the sliced potatoes in flour, then in the egg, and finally back in the flour.
  5. Fry the potato slices in hot oil until crispy.
  6. If desired, sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.
  7. Serving suggestion: Serve the potato puffs hot with soy sauce or mustard.
