Ingredients

  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 400 ml hot sauce
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped (optional)

Method

  1. In a pan, mix the extra virgin olive oil with the finely chopped onions.
  2. Add the hot sauce and stir well.
  3. Add the balsamic vinegar and sugar, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  4. Cook the mixture on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oil is well integrated.
  5. Transfer the pebre to an airtight container, adding salt and pepper to taste. If desired, add the chopped green onion.
  6. Let it cool before serving.
