Pease Pudding
A classic Irish dish, pease pudding is a delightful bowl of creamy, mashed green peas that evoke a sense of home.

Ingredients
- 400g of green peas
- 1 liter of milk
- 2 eggs
- 100g of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 teaspoon of cane sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- salt to taste
- 200g of butter
Method
- Rinse the green peas and cook them in boiling water for about 20 minutes, until they are tender.
- Drain the peas and let them cool.
- In a bowl, mix the milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, cane sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
- Add the green peas to the mixture and stir well to ensure they are fully soaked.
- Add the butter and mix until you get a smooth and creamy consistency.
- Pour the preparation into a pot and cook on low heat for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Serve warm, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon and grated cane sugar.
The story
Pease pudding has roots dating back to Victorian times, though its exact origins are uncertain. It is said to have been first prepared during a famine, using peas as a substitute for rice.
