Pastéis de Nata
Tasty Portuguese pastries, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 150 g of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 100 ml of milk
- 200 ml of warm milk
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 1/2 packet of vanilla sugar
- A little sugar for decoration
- Oil for frying
Method
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and vanilla sugar.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and warm milk, then add the flour and mix well.
- Form small balls with the dough and dip them in hot oil for a few seconds.
- Fry the balls for 30-40 seconds until they become crispy.
- Drain the pastéis and let them cool on a baking paper.
- Decorate with a little sugar before serving.
The story
Pastéis de nata originated in Lisbon and were invented in 1837 by a French friar, who made them a popular sweet.
