Ingredients

  • 2 baguettes
  • 200 g of ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 zucchini
  • 100 g of cheddar cheese
  • 50 ml of barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs

Method

  1. Prepare the barbecue sauce and mix it with some olive oil.
  2. Dice the onion, cucumber, and zucchini into small cubes.
  3. In a pan, sauté the onion in a bit of oil, then add the ground beef and cook until well done.
  4. Add the cucumber, zucchini cubes, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
  5. Cut the baguettes in half, spread the barbecue sauce on both sides, and add the meat.
  6. Stack the halves of the baguettes with meat in between, cover with cheese, and sprinkle with barbecue sauce.
  7. Beat the eggs in a bowl and dip the baguettes to fully coat them.
  8. Fry the pambazos in a pan with a bit of oil until golden and crispy.

Pambazo originated in the popular cuisine of Mexico City, where people used old bread to make crispy cakes filled with local ingredients.
