Ingredients
- 400g fresh squid
- 1 large onion, sliced thinly
- 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 3-4 small red chili peppers or 1 large red chili pepper
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 teaspoons gochujang (Korean spicy bean paste)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- Chopped nuts for garnish
Method
- Clean and slice the squid into thin strips, removing intestines and cartilage.
- In a large pan, sauté the onion and garlic in sesame oil until golden brown.
- Add sliced chili peppers and cook for one minute.
- Mix ketchup, gochujang, and soy sauce in a separate bowl and pour over the vegetables in the pan.
- Cook the squid over medium-high heat until crispy but still tender, about 3-4 minutes. Add the sauce mixture and stir well to distribute the flavor.
- Serve immediately with chopped nuts sprinkled on top.
