A thin, crispy pizza made fresh with classic mozzarella and tomato toppings.

Ingredients
- 250g of durum wheat flour
- 10g of yeast
- 350ml of room temperature water
- 10g of salt
- 100g of butter
- 2 ripe tomatoes
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
Method
- In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, salt, and butter. Add the warm water and mix until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Remove the dough from the bowl, form it into a ball, and let it rest for 1 hour.
- Prepare the tomatoes by slicing them thinly. Peel them if necessary.
- Preheat the oven to 250°C. Roll out the dough into a thin, round shape.
- Spread a thin layer of extra virgin olive oil on the pizza base, then add the tomato slices and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven, drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper before serving.
The story
The Neapolitan pizza originated in Naples but became famous in New York City, where pizzaioli adapted the recipe to fit their city's tastes.
