Mussels with Tomato Sauce
A traditional Bluff dish featuring fresh mussels and a crunchy tomato sauce.

Ingredients
- 400 grams of mussels
- 200 grams of canned tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 200 ml of white wine
- 50 grams of butter
- 50 grams of flour
- 100 ml of fish stock
- 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 200 grams of tostones (crispy bread slices)
Method
- Rinse the mussels thoroughly and remove the beards.
- In a pan, sauté the garlic and onion in a bit of butter.
- Add the canned tomatoes and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour with fish stock.
- Add the sautéed tomato mixture and white wine, stirring well.
- Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, adding salt and pepper to taste.
- In a bowl, mix the mussels with the sauce.
- Serve with crispy tostones on top.
