Moroccan Chicken Cevapi

A delectable Casablanca specialty, Moroccan chicken cevapi are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, seasoned with authentic spices.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs of chicken, sliced thinly
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons of chili powder
- 2 teaspoons of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
Method
- In a bowl, mix the chili powder, black pepper, salt, coriander, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
- Add the chicken slices and olive oil, mixing well to absorb the seasonings.
- In a pan over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the chicken and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Pour in the apple cider vinegar and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and crispy.
- Serve hot, with preferred condiments.
The story
Chicken cevapi originated in the Caucasus region but were adapted in Morocco, particularly in Casablanca, where they have become a popular dish.
