Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of chicken, sliced thinly
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the chili powder, black pepper, salt, coriander, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Add the chicken slices and olive oil, mixing well to absorb the seasonings.
  3. In a pan over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the chicken and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Pour in the apple cider vinegar and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and crispy.
  6. Serve hot, with preferred condiments.

The story

Chicken cevapi originated in the Caucasus region but were adapted in Morocco, particularly in Casablanca, where they have become a popular dish.
