Ingredients

  • 500 g of beef
  • 2 onions
  • 2 red chili peppers
  • 2 teaspoons of cubeb pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 liter of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 onion
  • 2 red chili peppers

Method

  1. Cut the beef into small pieces and brown it in a pan with sesame oil until it turns golden.
  2. Finely chop the onions and chili peppers and add them to the pan, stirring well.
  3. Add the beef broth, cubeb pepper, cinnamon, sugar, honey, and salt. Stir well.
  4. Cook on medium heat for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully cooked and the sauce is thick.
  5. Serving: serve the Mitnit Wot hot on a plate with slices of cornbread or Ethiopian black bread.
