Ingredients

  • 200g of flour
  • 100g of sugar
  • 100g of butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 100g of fruit jam
  • 500g of berries (e.g., blueberries or raspberries)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 100g of powdered sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 100g of ground almonds
  • 100g of pulled sugar
  • 100g of butter

Method

  1. Line a baking dish with parchment paper. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and melted butter. Spread the mixture in the baking dish and make a hole in the center.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs, add the fruit jam, vanilla extract, and berries. Pour this mixture into the baking dish with the crust.
  3. Beat the whole egg and mix it with the powdered sugar and ground almonds. Distribute this mixture over the tart.
  4. Melt the butter and pour it over the entire tart. Bake in the oven at 356°F (180°C) for 30-35 minutes.
  5. Let the dessert cool before serving.

The story

The Leipziger Lerche is a traditional sweet from Leipzig, named after its resemblance to a siskin bird (Lerche in German).
