This traditional sweet combines the warmth of the flame with the sweet taste of chocolate.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 2 eggs
- 50 g of butter
- 100 ml of milk
- 100 g of dark chocolate
- Powdered sugar for decoration
- Grated powder for decoration
- Honey for decoration
- Dried fruit for decoration
Method
- In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, butter, and milk until you get a smooth mixture.
- Combine the flour mixture and form a homogeneous dough.
- Roll out the dough into strings and wrap them around a wooden skewer.
- Make a grill with the flame and dry the skewers for 5-10 minutes.
- In a pan, melt the chocolate and butter, then pour over the skewers.
- Let it cool and decorate with powdered sugar, grated powder, honey, and dried fruit.
The story
Kürtőskalács originated in the Upper Transylvania region, where it was prepared during St. Bartholomew's celebrations. In Budapest, it has become a symbol of sweetness and hospitality.
