Kotlet Schabowy
Delicious kotlet schabowy, Poland's classic breaded beef cutlets, crispy and exquisite.

Ingredients
- 500 g of beef filet
- 150 g of toasted bread, crumbled
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of pepper
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
- oil for frying
Method
- Prepare the beef filet by cutting it into pieces of about 100g each.
- Mix the crumbled toasted bread, egg, salt, pepper, sugar, thyme, and parsley in a bowl.
- Dip the beef pieces in the mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
- Fry the kotlet schabowy in plenty of hot oil until they are golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately with a choice sauce, such as garlic sauce or tartar sauce.
The story
Kotlet schabowy became popular in Poland in the 19th century when meat was a luxury, and people sought to make the beef more tender by bread-coating and frying the cutlets.
