A warm and delicious soup made with the unique Duffel onions and authentic spices.

Ingredients
- 4 Duffel onions
- 200 g of potatoes
- 100 g of carrots
- 100 g of scallions
- 1 liter of beef broth
- 100 g of lard
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 clove
Method
- Peel the Duffel onions and slice them thinly.
- In a pot, heat the olive oil and chopped garlic. Add the onions and cook over medium heat until golden brown.
- Add the cubed carrots, scallions, and lard in cubes. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the beef broth, lemon juice, salt, sugar, and spices. Bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes.
- Add the cubed potatoes and cook for another 15 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.
- Serve the hot soup garnished with a bay leaf and a clove.
