Ingredients

  • 300g of sugar
  • 200ml of water
  • 100g of sesame seeds
  • 100g of almonds
  • 100g of hazelnuts
  • 100g of pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Oil for frying

Method

  1. In a pan, mix the sugar and water over medium heat until the sugar fully dissolves.
  2. Add the cinnamon, vanilla, and salt, mix well.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and continue cooking over medium heat until the liquid expands and forms a paste.
  4. Fry the paste in hot oil in thin slices.
  5. Once fried, add the sesame seeds, almonds, hazelnuts, and pistachios, mix well to combine.
  6. Let it cool down, then cut the khlii into uniform pieces.
  7. Serving: khlii can be served fresh or stored in a closed container for several days.
