Ingredients

  • 500 ml of milk
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoon of shredded sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of crushed pistachios
  • 1 tablespoon of grated lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon of butter

Method

  1. In a saucepan, bring the milk, sugar, vanilla, cardamom, honey, and cinnamon to a boil.
  2. Continue to cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the milk becomes creamy.
  3. Add the butter and shredded sugar, stirring well.
  4. Stop cooking and let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Pour into a serving dish decorated with lemon zest and crushed pistachios.
  6. Serve chilled for a creamier texture.

Khadi is a traditional dessert from the Sindh region of Pakistan, with roots tracing back to Mughal times. It has been a home-cooked dessert for generations but has also become a popular dish throughout Pakistan.
