Karahi Tofu

A delicious fried tofu dish in a spicy and flavorful sauce, typical of the Lahore cuisine.

Ingredients
- 400 g of tofu
- 2 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 200 g of red bell peppers
- 100 ml of karahi oil
- 50 ml of soy sauce
- 50 ml of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 100 g of fried onions
- 100 g of fresh herbs (mint and cilantro)
Method
- Cut the tofu into cubes and coat with flour.
- Fry the tofu cubes in a pan with karahi oil until golden.
- In a pot, sauté the onions, garlic, and red bell peppers.
- Add the soy sauce, lemon juice, chili powder, and ginger. Stir well.
- Add the fried tofu cubes and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Garnish the dish with fresh herbs and fried onions.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
