Ingredients

  • 150g of sugar threads pasta
  • 200g of riccioli pasta
  • 500ml of milk
  • 200g of sugar
  • 100g of butter
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 100g of fresh cream
  • 100g of toasted sesame seeds
  • 100g of toasted almonds
  • 100g of cocoa powder

Method

  1. In a pot, bring the milk, butter, and vanilla to a boil. Soak the sugar threads pasta in the hot milk.
  2. In a pan, mix the sugar with the butter until a butter and sugar sauce forms.
  3. In a bowl, mix the fresh cream with the cocoa powder.
  4. In a baking dish, layer the sugar threads pasta, then the riccioli pasta.
  5. Pour the butter and sugar sauce over the riccioli pasta.
  6. Cover with the chocolate cream and decorate with toasted sesame seeds and toasted almonds.
  7. Let it cool and serve chilled.

The story

Kanaféh is a long-standing culinary specialty from the city of Tyre, Lebanon. It was traditionally served as a celebratory sweet during religious festivals and family celebrations.
