A delicious maize cake, typical of the Valdivia region, often enjoyed during the autumn season.

Ingredients
- 200 g of black maize
- 100 g of sugar
- 50 g of butter
- 2 eggs
- 100 g of sour cream
- 50 g of flour
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder
- 1 tablespoon of sugar powder
- salt to taste
Method
- Wash and boil the black maize for 15 minutes.
- Boil the maize and let it cool down.
- In a bowl, mix the maize, sugar, butter, eggs, sour cream, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
- Form a cake with the obtained dough and put it in a greased pan.
- Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes, checking the cooking.
- Serve warm or cold, decorated with powdered sugar or fresh fruit.
The story
Humita has pre-Columbian roots and has evolved over time, becoming an important part of Chilean cuisine, especially in the Valdivia region.
