Ingredients
- 200g of basmati rice
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 red pepper, chopped
- 100g of turnip greens, chopped
- 50g of fresh mint, chopped
- 50g of fresh basil, chopped
- 50g of fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 lemon, sugar, and water for lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of tamarind powder
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
Method
- Cook the rice: boil the basmati rice in salted water for about 15-20 minutes, then cool it under cold water.
- Prepare the sauce: mix the lemon juice, tamarind powder, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
- In a large bowl, mix the rice with the chopped vegetables and herbs.
- Add the prepared sauce and mix well.
- Let it sit for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
