Ingredients

  • 1 kg of beef
  • 500 g of lentils
  • 2 onions
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 liter of beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin powder

Method

  1. In a large pot, mix the meat, lentils, garlic, carrots, onions, red pepper, and beef broth.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 3 hours on low heat.
  3. Add the spices and cook for another hour until the meat and lentils are tender.
  4. Chop the onions and garlic and sauté them in a separate pan.
  5. Add the sautéed onions and garlic to the pot and stir well.
  6. Let it cool down and serve hot, accompanied by bread or rice.
