Ingredients

  • 300 g of ground meat (pork or beef)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 12 bay leaves
  • 12 mint leaves

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground meat with the chopped onion, ginger, chili powder, sugar, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Add the eggs and bay leaves, mix well until you get a homogeneous consistency.
  3. In another bowl, mix the bread crumbs.
  4. Take small portions of the meat mixture and wrap them in a mint leaf, then coat them in the bread crumbs.
  5. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the gehaktbal until they are golden and crispy.
  6. Serve the gehaktbal hot with a mint leaf in each portion.
