Gehaktbal
A classic Dutch dish, gehaktbal are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect as an appetizer.

Ingredients
- 300 g of ground meat (pork or beef)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of ginger, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
- 12 bay leaves
- 12 mint leaves
Method
- In a bowl, mix the ground meat with the chopped onion, ginger, chili powder, sugar, black pepper, and salt.
- Add the eggs and bay leaves, mix well until you get a homogeneous consistency.
- In another bowl, mix the bread crumbs.
- Take small portions of the meat mixture and wrap them in a mint leaf, then coat them in the bread crumbs.
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry the gehaktbal until they are golden and crispy.
- Serve the gehaktbal hot with a mint leaf in each portion.
