Galbi-jjim (갈비찜)
A dish of beef short ribs simmered and marinated in a delicious soy sauce-based sauce, offering a true feast for the palate.

Ingredients
- 400 g of beef short ribs
- 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of shoyu sauce
- 1 tablespoon of chili sauce
- 1/2 cup of chopped onion
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup of sake
- 1/2 cup of soybean oil
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1 tablespoon of coriander
- salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Boil the beef short ribs in salted water for 20-30 minutes, then cool and cut into pieces.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, shoyu sauce, sake, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and coriander to the beef broth, mix well.
- In a pan, heat the soybean oil over medium heat, add the beef short ribs and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the sauce over the beef short ribs, cover, and simmer over low heat for 30-40 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with coriander and chopped onion.
The story
Galbi-jjim is a traditional Korean dish with ancient roots, but has become particularly popular in Busan, where it is served in numerous restaurants.
