This traditional Tucumán fried pastel is a crunchy and delicious treat, perfect for a family lunch.

Ingredients
- 250 g of flour
- 100 g of butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 100 g of grated cheese
- 100 g of smoked ham
- 100 g of sweet potatoes
- oil for frying
- salt
- pepper
Method
- Mix the flour, melted butter, egg, salt, and sugar until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Slice the sweet potatoes thinly and marinate them in salt and pepper.
- Add the smoked ham and grated cheese to the dough.
- Form small pastels with the dough.
- Fry the pastels in plenty of hot oil until golden and crispy.
- Drain them on paper to absorb excess oil.
- Serve hot with a sprinkle of salt and pepper to taste.
