Fish and Chips
A traditional Australian dish, crispy and delicious.

Ingredients
- 4 fish fillets (haddock or tuna)
- 2 cups of flour for frying
- 1/2 cup of salt
- 1/2 cup of black pepper
- 2 liters of oil for frying
- Vinegar and salt for serving
- Fried potatoes (for 4 people)
Method
- Prepare the fish fillets by cutting them into pieces about 2 cm thick.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, and black pepper.
- Dredge the fish fillets in the flour mixture, making sure they are fully coated.
- Fry the fish fillets in hot oil until golden and crispy.
- Remove the fish fillets from the fryer and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Fry the potatoes in hot oil until they are crispy.
- Serve the fish fillets with fried potatoes and season with vinegar and salt.
- Enjoy the dish!
The story
Fish and chips became popular in Australia in the 1920s when bar owners started offering this dish as a snack.
