Farofa
A classic Brazilian condiment that enriches every dish with its intense and crunchy aroma.

Ingredients
- 200g of manioc farofa
- 50g of sultana raisins
- 30g of crushed almonds
- 20g of sesame seeds
- 50g of palm oil
- 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of cane sugar
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Method
- Prepare the farofa by mixing the manioc farofa with palm oil, salt, and pepper.
- Add the crushed almonds, sesame seeds, and sultana raisins.
- Heat a pan and cook the farofa on medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Add the cane sugar and balsamic vinegar and mix well.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the farofa becomes crispy.
- Transfer to a plate and serve immediately.
The story
Farofa has its origins among Brazilian indigenous people, who used cassava to prepare this black manioc flour. Today, it is a fundamental element of Brazilian home cooking.
