Empanadas
Empanadas are a traditional Argentine dish, crispy and full of flavorful filling.

Ingredients
- 200g of beef
- 100g of onion
- 100g of cucumber
- 200g of flour
- 100g of pork fat
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon of chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
- 10 bay leaves
- oil for frying
Method
- Cut the beef into small pieces and set aside.
- Mix the pork fat with oregano, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Sauté the onion and cucumber in the fat and oil, then add the beef and cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
- While the beef is cooking, prepare the dough: mix the flour with oil and water.
- Divide the dough into small balls and fill with the filling.
- Cover the empanadas with dough and seal the edges well.
- Fry the empanadas in plenty of hot oil until they become crispy.
The story
Empanadas were introduced to Argentina by Spanish colonizers, but have become a true culinary symbol of the country.
