Ingredients
- 120 g of crispy bread
- 200 g of potatoes
- 50 g of onion
- 100 g of mashed chickpeas
- 50 g of yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon of cherry chutney
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 1 tablespoon of coriander
Method
- Peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes. Boil the potatoes in salted water for about 10-15 minutes, until soft.
- While the potatoes are cooking, chop the onion into cubes and fry in hot oil until golden.
- Once the potatoes are cooked, mash them in a bowl and add the mashed chickpeas, yogurt, tomato sauce, cherry chutney, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Cut the bread in half and fry in hot oil until golden.
- Assemble the dabeli by placing a spoonful of potato mash in the center of the bread, add the fried onion on top, and sprinkle with coriander.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh and crunchy flavors of this traditional dish.
