Cougnou
Cougnou is a traditional Namur pastry made during the Epiphany Festival to bring good luck to the household.

Ingredients
- 200 g of flour
- 100 g of sugar
- 3 eggs
- 100 g of butter
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 packet of yeast
- 1 tablespoon of rum
- 100 g of almonds
- 100 g of chocolate
- 100 g of hazelnuts
- 100 g of pistachios
- 100 g of chestnuts
Method
- Mix the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl.
- Add the eggs, butter, and rum, and mix until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Bake the pastry in a greased baking dish for 20-25 minutes at 180°C.
- Meanwhile, prepare the decoration with almonds, chocolate, hazelnuts, pistachios, and chestnuts.
- Once baked, let the pastry cool down, then decorate it with the almond and chocolate preparation.
