Corned Beef and Cabbage
A classic Irish dish, corned beef roasted with onions and kale.

Ingredients
- 500 g of salted pork
- 1 kg of kale
- 2 onions
- 2 zucchini
- 2 carrots
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon of chili flakes
- 1 liter of water
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Method
- In a large pot, add water, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Place the salted pork in the pot and let it boil for 2 hours.
- Wash the kale, cut it into pieces. Add the kale to the pot with the pork, stir and let it cook for another 30 minutes.
- Slice the onions, zucchini, carrots, and garlic thinly. In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the vegetables for 5 minutes.
- Add the vegetables to the pot with the pork and kale, stir well and let it cook for 30 minutes.
- Serve hot, accompanied by boiled or crispy potatoes.
The story
Corned beef and cabbage is a traditional Irish dish that dates back to the British colonization period, where agricultural workers used salted beef and kale as primary ingredients.
