Ingredients

  • 400 ml of condensed milk
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla powder
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • A pinch of salt

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the condensed milk, sugar, eggs, flour, water, and a pinch of salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little water and add it to the first mixture.
  3. Add the vanilla powder and mix well.
  4. Check the consistency and, if necessary, add more condensed milk to achieve the desired consistency.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for about 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is golden and fully set.
  6. Let it cool and serve chilled or at room temperature.

The story

Condensed milk pudding originates from Minas Gerais, where it was first created in the 19th century as a way to use the relatively expensive condensed milk product.
