Ingredients

  • 500 g of mixed seafood (prawns, mussels, scallops, shrimp)
  • 200 g of potatoes
  • 100 g of zucchini
  • 100 g of onions
  • 500 ml of fish broth
  • 200 ml of milk
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 100 ml of white wine
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley
  • 1 lemon

Method

  1. Clean and cut the seafood, potatoes, and zucchini.
  2. In a pot, sauté the onions in butter, then add the flour and fish broth, stirring well.
  3. Bring to a boil and reduce the cooking time to 10 minutes.
  4. Add the seafood, potatoes, and zucchini, cook for 15-20 minutes.
  5. In another pot, heat the milk, white wine, and a pinch of salt, then gently mix it with the soup.
  6. Turn off the heat, add the parsley and lemon juice, mix well, and serve hot.
  7. Make sure it is well mixed before serving.

The story

Chupe de Mariscos is a traditional soup from Valparaíso, born as a way to use local seafood during the Catholic abstinence period.
