Chinese Fondue
A delicious Chinese fondue, a Swiss culinary classic, perfect for an Asian-inspired aperitif.

Ingredients
- 100g of glutinous rice
- 500g of carrots
- 500g of onions
- 500g of bell peppers
- 200g of shiitake mushrooms
- 500ml of rapeseed oil
- 200g of soybeans
- 100g of soy sauce
- 100g of chili sauce
- 500ml of chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 100g of ginger
- 100g of Sichuan pepper
Method
- Wash and cut the glutinous rice into small cubes.
- Prepare the sauce by mixing oil, soya beans, soy sauce, chili sauce, chicken broth, salt, and pepper in a pot.
- Cut the carrots, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms into cubes.
- Place the glutinous rice and vegetable cubes in a bowl.
- In a very hot pan, pour the sauce and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Insert the bowl with rice and vegetables into the sauce and serve immediately.
- Sporadically pour the sauce over the rice and vegetables during service.
The story
The Chinese fondue was born in Switzerland in the 1950s as an innovative way to serve food, blending Asian ingredients with local culinary traditions.
