A traditional Karachi dish, Chana Masala is a red and spicy delight that is perfect to enjoy with bread or rice.

Ingredients
- 200 g of chickpeas
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves of fennel
- 2 red bell peppers
- 2 green bell peppers
- 1 tablespoon of red chili
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- 1 teaspoon of coriander
- 1 teaspoon of dried onion
- 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
Method
- Rinse the chickpeas, then cook them in salted water for 20-30 minutes until tender.
- Cut the onions, bell peppers, and fennel leaves into cubes.
- In a pan, sauté the red chili, cumin, coriander, and garlic in a bit of oil.
- Add the onions, bell peppers, and fennel leaves and sauté for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chickpeas, dried onion, cardamom, ginger, and black pepper, then stir well.
- Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, checking and stirring occasionally.
- Serve the Chana Masala hot with bread or rice.
