Ingredients

  • 200 g of chickpeas
  • 2 onions
  • 2 cloves of fennel
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • 1 tablespoon of red chili
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of dried onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Method

  1. Rinse the chickpeas, then cook them in salted water for 20-30 minutes until tender.
  2. Cut the onions, bell peppers, and fennel leaves into cubes.
  3. In a pan, sauté the red chili, cumin, coriander, and garlic in a bit of oil.
  4. Add the onions, bell peppers, and fennel leaves and sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the chickpeas, dried onion, cardamom, ginger, and black pepper, then stir well.
  6. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes, checking and stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve the Chana Masala hot with bread or rice.
